Real time and pre-recorded dances bring a unique performance experience to audiences via Zoom.

Featured at Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival 2019, Jane Franklin Dance returns to real time performance through a virtual presentation. “Border (excerpts)” is about barriers experienced because of race, gender or disability. A real-time performance via Zoom presents these individual stories in an up-close way.

The program includes pre-recorded performances as well.  Kelsey Rohr’s You and Me, previously presented in November 2019, features Forty+ in a groovy piece reminding us to have fun and let go. Barry White’s sultry voice carries the dancers from one movement to another and makes you (and me) smile.

Jane Franklin’s Thorn in My Side is inspired by the personality traits of cartoon character Yosemite Sam.  With his hair trigger temper and swaggering bravado, he is responsible for random baffling conflicts with whomever he meets.   “I’m The roughest, toughest, he-man stuffest hombre ever crossed the Rio Grande”  An’ I ain’t no namby-pamby.”
