The connotation of “eyesore”, an unpleasant sight in a public place, spins in EyeSoar as audio, video and movement highlight the wonderful people and organizations in an industrial neighborhood. Space is getting tighter and longtime occupants nestle within change.
Older cinder block buildings which have undergone multiple renovations, different ownership, and many uses stand alongside gentrification, changing demographics and new purpose. EyeSoar is a tribute to the S Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington neighborhood, its landscape and the people who call it home.
Performers are Philip Baraoidan, Kelsey Rohr, Amy Scaringe, Brynna Shank, and Rebecca Weiss with music by Don Zientara, founder of Inner Ear Studio, a recording studio engaged Dave Grohl, national and local performing artists. Interviews are by Charles Meng, Director of Arlington Food Assistance Center, founder Don Zientara of Inner Ear Studio, Mike Katrivanos of New District Brewing, Rudy Flores of Automotive Express, Travis Hackney, Weenie Beenie, Mary Stewart (Vice President, External Affairs WETA), Megan Carney, Dept of Parks and Recreation, Jessica Ward of The Board Hound, and Uzi Samee Cultural Affairs Specialist.
